Southeastern Insurance Consultants, LLC (SIC) is an independent insurance sales/consulting agency specializing in both individual and group health, life, and retirement licensed products for customers ranging in size from 1 to 2000 employees. SIC is an advisor in individual life insurance to fund buy sell arrangements, employee retention, and supplemental retirement plans. SIC also offers property and casualty insurance products to individuals and businesses. As a licensed TPA, SIC provides flexibility in administrative services that can be offered to clients. In addition, SIC is partnered with American Benefit Services, LLC (ABS) that offers a full suite of benefit administrative services including COBRA, Section 125 Cafeteria Plans, Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), Claims Administration, Billing and Eligibility services. Other strategic partners to SIC include a Voluntary Worksite and Enrollment Specialist, Employee Benefits Attorney, Employment Practices Attorney, Payroll Administration Company and a Retirement and Investment Advisor.

SIC was founded in 2000 by Eric Wells and George Routon. Ed Byrd merged his firm (Professional Group Benefits, LLC/dba Norris-Byrd Group Benefits) with SIC in 2007. J. Sam Plexico and Associates, Inc. merged with SIC in 2013 as did Steve Brown of Assured Benefit Services of Greenville, SC. The purpose of these mergers was to develop an organization that would be a leader in meeting and exceeding the ever-changing needs of clients and be best situated to meet the challenges of the insurance industry going forward. All the partners were “friendly competitors” in the insurance market prior to joining forces and have always respected and leaned on each other’s talents and each saw an opportunity to bring their unique abilities together to work with clients as a team. The team approach is unique in the insurance industry and stands as a differentiator for SIC in the insurance marketplace.
